This position will provide technical expertise in mathematical modeling of wastewater networks for studies and designs of urban drainage systems. The successful candidate will join a team working primarily on Environment Agency framework, including which includes drainage area studies and a significant variety of schemes to solve sewer flooding, unsatisfactory overflows, the design of system improvements and enhancements to the wastewater networks.
The role will include providing guidance and training to more junior members of the team and to design engineers using models for development of solutions.
It is desirable that candidates hold a degree in a Civil Engineering or Environmental discipline (or equivalent) and be a member (or working towards membership) of the relevant professional institution.
You will need to have a full understanding and strong experience in the use of Info-Works, plus experience of using GIS tools. Your experience should include model build, verification and solution development, having undertaken optioneering covering one or more of the following:
• Flood allevation schemes;
• Storage solutions;
• CSO design;
• General sewerage design
You must also be capable of technical management over junior modelling staff with the responsibility for delivering the required quality, cost and programme and possess the ability to work within a team environment, have a strong client focus and good communication skills.
